From the moment I decided to create this business, I had a plan to create a business that was unique, not just in my area, but in the state as well. It was a huge goal actually, but I have stuck to my idea from the start and that is to be a No Waste Company. From the soap to the lotion bars to container methods and shipping, I wanted to have no waste anywhere. Everything I do for this store caters to zero waste.  

Soap for instance, when I make soap and then cut it, I have soap ends that other soap companies just toss, but I keep mine and create a 3 pack of ends, which is very useable, but skinny or deformed that can’t be packaged singly, so I put in a recycled zip lock bag and label them as “3 - Pack Assorted Travel Bars”. These zip lock bags are Kraft recyclable as well.  

Kraft brown tissue paper which is used to wrap soap bars is also 100% recyclable, as are the labels used for all my products.  

Containers of tin for salves, lotion bars, lip balms are made from recycled aluminum which is 100% recyclable. Easy to dispose of and also, in some cases, customers have washed and reused for their own purposes.  

Deodorant push-up containers are Kraft paperboard tubes which again are 100% recyclable.  

Glass is 100% recyclable and can be recycled over and over again which is why I chose bottles that are used for roller balls, body mists, room sprays.  

Why I don’t use plastics is because plastic is a petroleum based, non-renewable fuel and plastic soaks up essential oils which makes it difficult to reuse for other items because washing will never make it sterile enough to reuse for other items.  

Unfortunately, some of my products do have plastics like that of the spray bottle caps and sprayers. For now, these will remain simply because I have not found a suitable company that produces a better system.
